Journalists & Media
More than 20,000 accredited media were based at the Olympic Park with another 15,000 non-accredited journalists working from the Media Centre in central London. Blue Badge Tourist Guides played a leading role in hosting and escorting teams of reporters and film crews as they filmed in and around Stratford and all over the metropolis.
Our professional guides were hired by London & Partners, by NBC and by RTL Dutch TV, for example, to perform a variety of roles presenting pieces on the history of the Park, talking about regeneration and pointing film crews in the direction of fresh and exciting stories about the regeneration of East London.
We also worked for LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games) on various World Press Briefings. All these companies commented on the amount of time and money they’d saved by employing a local expert.
Visitors from all over the world still have an appetite for stories about the Olympics and Paralympics.
Whilst the Park is scheduled to stay closed until July 2013, Blue Badge Tourist Guides can work with media, showing you the best viewing points from which to watch its transformation into the largest urban park to be created in Europe in 200 years.
